Characterization of pottery shard based on stereomicroscopy. The observations takes in consideration the outer part (front), inner part (back) and the cross section of the shard, characterizing the clay matrix, inclusions and other peculiarities.

Regarding the surface: Crumbly paste, multiple cracks. Same morphological features on the front and on the back.

Regarding the cross sections: "Sandwich" pattern (grey/black heart) and Sub-millimetric inclusions.

Regarding the inclusions: The inclusion distribution is similar in type and size for both surfaces and section. On the back the inclusions tend to be red, round, homogeneous size distribution, medium dimensions (mostly sub-millimetric). As for the cross sections, the inclusions tend to be red, spot-like, very different shapes and size. Black, both spherical and irregular, medium to small dimensions. White semitransparent, subangular to angular, medium dimensions. White opaque, very abundant, very small
