Equipment set-up:
Acceleration voltage: 10 kV;
Acquisition time: 40 seconds;
Working distance: 10 mm.
Spectra ZAF-4 correction.
Sample was polished and coated with Carbon - thickness (nm): 15.0, density (g/cm3): 2.25.
The analytical results were obtained as the weight per cent (wt%) of the element oxides (with the exception of chlorine, which was reported as the wt% of the element), using quantitative analysis software support (Inca Suite).
Pure cobalt was used for energy calibration, and certified pure elements and oxides were
employed as standards for the quantitative analysis. The data from each analytical run were recast to 100%.
Bulk chemical compositions were obtained by scanning the electron beam on three to six different areas. The dimension of the raster was about 4 mm2 for the bulk.
